WESTERN LARIAT 2023

The Saddle Galleries

Here, you'll discover a collection of some of the saddles I've crafted. Of course, each custom build carries a unique story. But whether it's a consignment, off-the-rack purchase, or a custom order, every sale comes with a tale of the horse and rider's fitting journey. My aim? To conclude that arduous search for the perfect fit for both right here, at my doorstep.

ERIN CALIENTE 2023

The Classic Caliente

A saddle that I built to practice some skills and try some new things I hadn't before. I had hoped to list it on the website for sale. Less than a week after it was finished it had found a home!

THE GEMINI 2023

The Gemini, with its removable flaps, provide close contact, light saddle with a secure seat. If you're looking for security and options, this is a saddle for you.

THE STRATFORD

I originally made this saddle for myself to use in my endurance journey. One of my affiliates loved it so much that she wanted to purchase it. So after one ride in it, to California it went to a new home where it has already been used in competition!

CINDY CALIENTE

This client was looking for a lightweight, secure seat with a low cantle so she could easily get her leg over. So her caliente doesn't have leather encased panels, it doesn't have as much leather on it as many other western saddles, as leather adds weight.

ANN C 2023

This saddle was made specifically for a gaited horse trainer that specialized in Icelandic horses. Because of their short backs they were always particularly hard to fit. In a couple of weekends we were able to visit her most hard to fit clients to ensure that we could fit it properly for those horses and for her to learn how to make the adjustments and why behind the adjustments.

ANN A 2022

Built for a small woman with a tall horse that needed something lighter, that fit her and her horse well. We were able to come up with this Western Endurance styled saddle that instead of fenders has 3" leathers with her turned stirrups at the bottom.

CHERYL CALIENTE 2022

A Classic Caliente with leather covered panels and Conchos picked out by the client, who also happens to be an Affiliate of mine! C.H.A.M.P.S. Riding School She is located in Colorado and has several saddles for you to try and some to sell!

ALLISON CALIENTE 2022

At Caroline Colorama, a large trail ride event, I met a remarkable young woman who commissioned me to build her graduation present. It was an honor, and she still visits my booth during Caroline. However, during the build, there were delays with the tree order, extending our timeline from 6 weeks to over 16. When I finally received the tree, we had just a little over a month left to meet her deadline. But we made it!

LISA MINIMALIST 2022

This saddle underwent a seat remake, not due to frustration during the crafting process, but to address the rider's discomfort with the initial seat sculpt. What changed, you ask? The pivotal alteration was in the rise. Initially, the rider struggled to maintain the correct position and felt as if she was continually climbing in the saddle. After fine-tuning the seat to support her in achieving and sustaining the proper position, along with ensuring a precise fit for her challenging-to-fit horse, I witnessed a transformative sight. Both rider and horse moved freely and comfortably around the arena under their instructor's guidance. Moreover, this adjustment aided the horse with a swayed back, allowing him to gradually develop muscles previously underutilized due to prior saddle limitations. Over time, the need for shims diminished as the horse regained strength and mobility.

MINIMALIST 2022

This model was the vision of another client. It weighs under 17 lbs, and is a roomy but soft saddle with a hybrid seat to alow for a lot of seat room but cushion under the seat bones for long hours in the saddle.

UNFLAPPABLE 2022
WESTERN LARIAT 2022

The Western Lariat here is shown without fenders because the client wanted something that wouldn't pull on her knees. With round skirts and barbwire tooling on the edges and a matching flank cinch this saddle was decked out. Even came with merino wool Saddle Sox.

WESTERN LIBERTY 2021

This Liberty Saddle was a saddle I built to practice certain skills, thought I'd be carrying it around for a long time as it was a two tone western saddle. Then on a saddle fitting call I was pleasantly surprised to find a client that was looking for something that would fit her, her new horse and her old horses. She had put many miles in several states on her saddle since she bought it. She keeps in touch to let me know how things are going. I absolutely love hearing from all of my clients after we have found the saddle for them and their horses.

THE EPONA 2021

The Epona, this saddle brings back so many good memories of discussing this saddle for the client that dreamed it up. A replica of the original horse's saddle in the Legends of Zelda video game, Link's horse Epona, for those familiar with the game. While the saddle tested my bravery and courage in the face of remaking that seat three times for various reasons. I also had a lot of fun working with the client, helping her vision come to life! That's one of the favorite parts of my job, seeing the look on my client's face when they see their vision in the flesh.

FIRST SADDLE

This Officer, the first saddle I ever made. It was under the strict tutelage of my predecessor Cathy of Hillview Farms. I can see the progress I have made in my craft. Especially since it came back on consignment when the original owner changed disciplines.
